African Travel Bird

Who Are We ?

Hello, molosawabonadumelaavuxeni and lotjhani  from beautiful South Africa!

You’re here because I’ve obviously asked you to “please, look at our page”! Heck, I want to scream it from the rooftops, as this is something I’m truly passionate about. Exploring Africa and sharing the adventures we take, the people we meet and the beautiful places we have the privilege of exploring.

Who is this ‘WE’ I refer to? Well, that would be the man cub a.k.a the bean who at the time of starting this blog was just 8 and a half years of age (we know as parents to not steal that ‘half’. Shoh)! The bean comes with a bit of sass but with a lot of love for animals, the great outdoors and anything that’s a little bit hair-raising. His dad likes to think he is all about beach holidays, fishing spots and bike tracks but a mum knows when her son prefers the bush. That’s an argument for another day. Then there’s the man. Landy enthusiast, braai loving, fish catching, beer sipping man. One of the stickers on his landy ‘you can go fast but I can go anywhere’ pretty much sums up our treks across our beautiful land, taking it slowly to appreciate all the beauty to be found on route. Road trips are the best!

Then, there’s me, Taryn Cross. I write the ramblings you will find here on the places we have visited, the accommodation we’ve stayed at, the foodie stuff… and activities we have tried but, in no way make them what they are. It’s a team effort and heck, I have got the best team exploring and adventuring beside me.

Keen to see where we’ll be off to next? Stay tuned and journey with African Travel Bird!
